For the first time EVER, today's Sweets Time will feature a drink! Yaaayyy *clap clap clap*
TODAY'S SWEET: Ramune
A refreshing Japanese carbonated drink
The original ramune has a particular taste, which normally I would just describe as "Ramune flavor." However, to someone who has never tasted ramune, I might describe it as an almost watermelon-y soda type of taste. The drink now comes in many flavors: melon, strawberry, and grape being some among them.
In Japanese culture, the beverage is often served in the summer, especially at summer festivals called matsuri. Thinking back to how ridiculously hot Japan is in the summer (you can feel sticky after being out for 10 minutes), there is no doubt that a chilled sugary soda like ramune would be a very popular drink at such an event.

Ramune has also become popular internationally, and is especially famous for its unique way of opening the drink.
how to open a ramune bottle:
As you can see, not your typical soda. It seems like a lot of struggle for a drink, but opening it actually half the fun. And, the marble is amusing to clink around in the bottle. And pretty. Ramune is just a fun drink, you guys. You have to try it. It should be available online, as well as any Japanese supermarket. I've even seen this in American supermarkets.
I hope you enjoyed today's sweet sweet post. :)
Until next time,
