Any chocolate enthusiasts out there? Today's Sweets Time will be featuring a special Japanese chocolate by famous sweet company meiji that has been a favorite in Japan for decades.
TODAY'S SWEET: APOLLO CHOCOLATE (アポロチョコレート)
These tasty little guys are in the shape of a cone... for a reason which I am not aware of. Easier to eat, maybe? Or symbolizing a mountain? If you know, comment below :) The tops are strawberry chocolate, and the bottom is milk chocolate.
They come in a hand-sized box, like the one above. I've seen them come in tubes, as well. They're perfect to decorate sweets, toss on some ice cream/yogurt, or just eat by themselves. And of course, they are delicious. I've found this with most Japanese chocolate, but Apollo chocolates are not too sugary, and melt smoothly in your mouth. It's also cheap, and easy to carry around. And cute (as a lot of Japanese things are). :D My parents tell me that it is one of the many sweets of their childhood. I also ate these little mounds of joy as a kid-- they are apart of the image of Japan for me; small, cute, and sweet.
They sell Apollo chocolates at Japanese supermarkets, multicultural stores, and if you really want some they even sell it on Amazon. I assure you, they're more than worth the little trouble and money.
