A practice called "foot-binding" that prevented further growth of the foot started to become fashionable in China around the 11th century. At the time, small feet were considered feminine and "sexy." The misconception: that this process was simply wrapping the foot tightly to squeeze it into maybe a shoe size or two smaller. Check out my video on the topic below:
